Abroma augusta root extract (Ulatkambal )
Abroma augusta is a well-known medicine plant with a variety of medicinal uses. In this study we examine cholinesterase inhibitory activity as well as antioxidant activity of dried fruit extract including crude methyl extract. A. augusta also possess anti-oxidative activity but al ACHE and BuCHE inhibitory activity.
Abrus precatorius seed extract (Gunja, Rosary pea)
In Ayurveda, Gunja is recommended in treatment of nervous debility, obstinate cough and locally in leucoderma, alopecia, sciatica, stiff joints, leprosy (Mahakusta; Kushtani, Kustaroga) and paralysis. Seeds are purgative, emetic, tonic, aphrodisiac in nature. The purified (detoxified) Gunja seeds exert pharmacological actions such as Anodyne, Antimicrobial, Diuretic, Expectorant, Vermifuge, Sedative, Purgative, Emetic, Aphrodisiac, Hair growth stimulator, Abortifacient. The seeds contain Abrine, hypaphorine, choline, trigonelline, precatorine, 5 β-cholanic acid, antitumour proteins – abrin A and B, globulin, arabinose, hemagglutin glucoside, abralin, stigmasterol, β- sitosterol, abrus saponin I and II.
Acacia arabica bark extract (Babool )
The methanolic extracts of A. arabica pods have been claimed against HIV-PR .Currently, one group of researchers has tested the antiplasmodial activity of A. nilotica ethyl acetate extract against different chloroquine resistant and sensitive strains of Plasmodium falciparum . The fresh plant parts of this species have been reported to be most active against Hepatitis C virus . it is an important multipurpose tree that has been used extensively for the treatment of various diseases, e.g. colds, bronchitis, diarrhoea, dysentery, biliousness, bleeding piles and leucoderma .
Adhatoda vasica leaf extract (Adhulsa)
Adhatoda vasica is considered useful in treating bronchitis, tuberculosis and other lung and bronchiole disorders. It is useful in the treatment of tuberculosis, hyperacidity, local bleeding in piles, menorrhagia. Adhatoda vasica is expectorant, diuretic, anti spasmodic and alterative. With active ingredients like vasicinone and vasicinol, adhatoda helps cough triggered by irritants and has an anti tussive effect comparable to that of codaine. With vasicine and vasicinone, the herb also inhibits allergen-triggered bronchial obstruction with an efficacy similar to that of sodium cromoglycate. One another significant function is that it can provide an anti-inflammatory effect due to its active alkaloids with a similar potency to that of hydrocortisone.
Aegle marmelos fruit extract ( Bael )
Fruits are used in diarrhea, dysentery, gastric troubles, constipation, laxative, tonic, digestive, brain and heart tonic, ulcer, intestinal parasites, gonorrhea,epilepsy. Fine powder of unripe fruit can be an alternative medicine to cure intestinal parasites, like Entamoeba histolytica, Ascaris lumbricoides.
Albizzia lebbeck bark extract ( Siris )
A water soluble extract made in a GMP certified facility is offered in powder, paste and granule formats.
Alstonia scholaris bark extract (Saptaparni, Devil tree )
In Ayurveda, Bark of Alstonia scholaris is used as a bitter and as an astringent herb for treating skin disorders, malarial fever, urticaria, chronic dysentery, diarrhea, in snake bite and for upper purification process of Panchakarma. It contains indole alkaloids. It shows various actions such as febrifuge, antiperiodic, spasmolytic, antidysenteric, uterine stimulant, hypotensive; used for internal fevers.
